What can be said about Akron/Family? From their epic 2007 album "Love is Simple", to the collaborative work with jazz master Hamid Drake on "Meek Warrior" to 2009's "Set 'Em Wild, Set 'Em Free", Akron/Family a band as free and prolific as they come. And that is right up our alley here at Joyful Noise. Their uniquely original and always shifting blend of folky experimentalism has made them one of the most consistently interesting bands in the modern musical landscape. We are very excited to be releasing the band's new album "S/T II: The Cosmic Birth and Journey of Shinju TNT" on cassette alongside Dead Ocean's releases of the LP and CD.
