Our sick obsession with Danielson / Danielson Family (or Famile) / Br. Danielson began with their 1997 Kramer-produced album "Tell Another Joke At The Ol' Choppin Block". We were instantly enamored with the band's bizarre, squeaky art-folk, which carried a message of theatrical spiritualism that was at once lighthearted and cult-like.
Five albums and 14 years later Danielson is still as compelling as ever. Joyful Noise is very happy to release of the new Danielson album on cassette (w/ digital). "Best of Gloucester County" is Danielson's first album in five years - and the followup to their widely acclaimed album "Ships". Featuring the banjo/vocal work of Sufjan Stevens, and a cameo from Jens Lekman, "Best of Gloucester County" Danielson at their most refined.
