An unlikely collaboration between legendary lo-fi hero Jad Fair, French experimentalists trio Hifiklub, and German guitarist/producer kptmichigan. The band was originally assembled to provide the audio component to Jad Fair's art exhibition at Le Dojo - Nice in France, 2011.
There is a yin and yang quality to the music created by this partnership. On the one hand we have Jad Fair: an unruly, impulsive, self-taught musician with a child-like artistic sensibility, and on the other hand we have Hifiklub + kptmichigan: highbrow European experimentalists who are masters of their trade. The result is some of the most artistically engaging music we've heard in years. Atmospheric, jazz-leaning experimentalism meets the innocent side of punk rock.
