Austrian-based Valina have been creating their unique mathy rock for nearly 12 years. The trio composed of Anatol Bogendorfer (guitar, vocals), Claus Harringer (drums) and Florian Husbert Huber (bass) began recording music in 1997, releasing several 7"s (one with Sicbay), one EP, and two full-length albums. Most of have been released on their Austrian label Trost, and two of which (Vagabond and Epode) have been released in the states by 54' 40' or Fight!
In 2006 Claus left the band, being replaced by the amazingly accomplished drummer Anselm Durrschmid. Relentless touring in Europe and the States followed, culminating with a lengthy recording session in Chicago with the legendary Steve Albini. The resulting third full-length album, A Tempo! A Tempo!, has solidified Valina's reputation as experts in technical rock. With this release the band has taken a GIANT step forward - offering a meaty, booming dose of mathy goodness which is easily their finest work to date.
