April 22, 2008 - JOYFUL NOISE SIGNS THE DELICIOUS
We here at Joyful Noise are very pleased to be working with one of Bloomington, Indiana's finest musical projects: THE DELICIOUS! This band has developed an incredibly unique, complex, light-hearted, and freakishly disjointed blend of experimental indie-art-pop. They are able to craft challenging music while still being one of the catchiest pop bands we have ever heard. Their debut Joyful Noise EP titled Postcard To My Sewing Circle abounds with elegantly constructed, cerebral power-pop anthems. The album hits stores on June 10 - but is available for pre-order now, only through this site.
Listen to the first track from the new EP titled "Hokusai" right HERE!
Also - a special treat for those with zip codes beginning with the numbers "47" - The Delicious are having a pre-release show Friday April 25, 2008 in Bloomington, IN at the Art Hospital. Everyone who attends will get a free copy of the new EP. THIS IS YOUR ONLY CHANCE TO GET A COPY UNTIL THE NATIONAL RELEASE ON JUNE 10. As if this wasn't enough: Abner Trio, The Alarmists (Calm Down), and Amo Joy will also be performing.

April 15, 2008 - TAX DAY IS ACTUALLY EXCITING FOR JOYFUL NOISE...
Because there is just so much going on. Grampall Jookabox just signed a booking deal with The Nicodemus Agency, who also represent such great acts as Dark Meat, Shapes and Sizes, Denison Witmer, and Liz Janes.
In addition - a big THANK YOU to all who made the Defunct Indiana CD release show such an amazing event. Those who made it out know how geat it was - those who didn't will just have to sit home and cry thinking about that fact that they may never again have the opportunity to see America Owns the Moon, Intro To Airlift, BIGBIGcar, or Lukewarm Bodies.
That's it for now --- but new artists are on the horizons...

March 17, 2008 - DEFUNCT INDIANA

December 30, 2007 - LAFCADIO's "KIBOSH" AVAILABLE FOR PRE-ORDER
The new and strikingly heavy/bizarre/amazing follow-up to 2005's "Sham Duvet" has finally arrived. One thing is for sure: "Kibosh" is definitely an evolutionary leap in Lafcadio's discography. If you like to geek out about polyrhythms and enjoy music that pushes the boundaries of how many time signatures can exist within one song - this album is for you. Plus the cover art is absolutely astounding - featuring the photography of Christine Edwards and the artistic wizardry of Aaron Tanner.
Listen to the first track from "Kibosh" called If "Someone Asks You If You Are A God You Say Yes" right HERE!
The album isn't in stores until Jan 22, but copies ordered from this site will ship now. To purchase the new Lafcadio album for $10 (postage paid in US!) click HERE.

December 4, 2007 - PUSH-PULL IS OMNIPRESENT
The NEW EP from Bloomington's Push-Pull is now in stores, and it has become the object of affection for many recent publications. Tastes Like Chicken says "Thank you God!", Nuvo calls it "rock 'n' roll gold", Sonic Frontiers gives it a 9 out of 10, and the most excellent Ghettoblaster Magazine says it's "Like Ian MacKaye fronting The Descendants... yea, that damn good." Ghettoblaster has also included it in their new Mix Tape alongside Dalek, Bottomless Pit, Ida, and Dischord's Joe Lally.

September 28, 2007 - JOYFUL NOISE RECEIVES COMPLETELY PLATONIC LOVE FROM VERBICIDE MAGAZINE
If you pick up the most recent issue of Verbicde Magazine you will probably notice that they seem to like the music we are pumping out. They recently said of Marmoset, "Florist Fired kicks ass... unique, weird, and never bland or void of charm", and that Child Bite's Gold Thriller "serves up tweaked out everything with a tasteful side of ballsy energy", and on the topic of Grampall Jookabox's Scientific Cricket Verbicide exclaims "This album is amazing. No genre can describe what is going on here... It's been a long time since I was this satisfied with a CD."
So go pick up a copy of Verbicide!
Also, the new issue of Paste contains a featurette/ review of Child Bite's Gold Thriller. So now would be a good time to pick up one of them as well.
