Gogglesphere actually has nothing to do with theoretical physics. They are, however, a rising force in Midwestern metal, whose live performances are consistently awesome, and whose debut album 'Babies...' is a testament to their musical ability and versatility. The music is highly intelligent and powerfully conceptual without losing its appeal to old-fashioned thrashers and head-bangers. Furthermore, you can actually understand some of the vocals: this is a band whose singer actually sings as well as screaming. You don't have to be smart to like Gogglesphere anymore than you have to be smart to be the victim of a nuclear holocaust. You just have to be in the right place at the right time.

And you also have to buy this album.

Critics rave: "If Mike Patton, Les Claypool, Rodger Waters, Slayer, and the Sleepytime Gorilla Museum were all members of one project, it might sound like Gogglesphere. Sort of." This is totally inaccurate. If Mike Patton, Les Claypool, Roger Waters, Slayer and Sleepytime were all members of the same project it would sound like a musical trainwreck. Gogglesphere, on the other hand, is tightly coordinated. The music is exceedingly complex, but you can still appreciate it without being a musician. For anyone who's too mature for 80's cock-rock, whose fed-up with death-metal, and is unable to dance or have sex while Don Caballero is blasting on the stereo--this album is a MUST-HAVE.
