With their final effort "See Out", Boston's Big Bear take their tumbling, rhythmically complex signature sound into more laid-back, melodic terrain. In their final recordings, the band's transition from geometry-core to jigsaw-indie is complete. Shedding their hardcore exoskeleton (most present in 2005's s/t debut on Monitor) and exposing a new and less agressive breed of demented-cutsie-grind-pop. These are inventive, epileptic, yet remarkably catchy tunes which kind of make you wish you had paid attention in math class.
