“Slow Zoom” is the first Honest Weight recording to feature the entire live-band lineup (Zac Canale, Aaron Lowell Denton, Jeff Grant, & David Woodruff), and to be recorded in a proper studio, since 2019’s “There Is No Feeling Better”. Tracked primarily live at Russian Recording in Bloomington, IN, the single also features contributions from Mike Bridavsky and engineering assistance from Jozef Caldwell, whose life since leaving the assumed security of the rural midwest for the grand promise of the American West has included working with Taylor Swift, Sabrina Carpenter, Durand Jones, Bleachers, and Beabadoobee. 

About the song, Mike Adams writes:

“Slow Zoom” is me romanticizing a nostalgic experience I never had, from a time period I never lived in. Flying out of an airport with no metal detectors, on a plane with a smoking section, away from the wrongly-assumed security of a rural midwestern life, and into the greener pastures and grand promise of the American West.
