Chris Thile is best known as the mandolinist and singer of the progressive bluegrass bands Punch Brothers and engaging various musical heavyweights like Yo-Yo Ma in interesting collaborations. He’s also generally considered the greatest mandolinist on the planet.. He appears playing mandolin on “Alternate World,” the opening of track of Lanterns.
