We are very happy to announce the new album from Victor Villarreal, entitled "Sleep Talk". Perhaps best known as the pioneering guitarist behind the legendary groupsCap'n Jazz and Owls, Victor Villarreal is one of the most inventive guitarists of modern indie-rock, cultivating a unique style that includes elements of classical, Spanish, indie and even metal.
"Sleep Talk" is Villarreal's second proper solo effort, and his first to enlist bassist (and early Joan of Arc member) Erik Bocek. Utilizing a "one man band" style of performance, the majority of "Sleep Talk" was recorded live in the studio, with Victor simultaneously performing guitar, percussion and vocals. Hinged on the tumbling rhythms of Villarreal's other-worldly guitar style, the tracks on "Sleep Talk" are diverse and moody, and will tickle your brain into a meditative stasis.
"Sleep Talk" is now available for pre-order on clear & silver splatter vinyl (limited to 300 hand-numbered copies w/ custom letterpress artwork), Silver vinyl, and Digital.
Also, heads up for you Chicago natives: Victor will be playing a SURPRISE RELEASE SHOW on Saturday, January 3rd w/ Owen and Tim Kinsella. No one knows it yet, but "Sleep Talk" will be available at this show.
