We absolutely love hearing new music, but unfortunately we can no longer guarantee we will listen to all demos sent our way. In the 10+ years we have accepted unsolicited demos only one or two have resulted in releases... And we cannot justify the time involved in sifting through unfiltered submissions.
If you would like us to hear your music, we recommend you find a mutual friend (someone you know, who has worked with us at some point) and ask for an introduction. The reality is that 99% of our new signings come through our existing roster. Our artists are our cultural network. If you are the right fit for JNR, chances are you've had some contact with our artists in the past. And the best way to send us music is to ask one of our artists to introduce us.
If you are blindly sending demos to every label you can find in the hopes that you'll "make it", please stop and rethink your approach. We recommend you start by playing shows, throwing your own shows, bringing the bands you love to your home town, while spending months of time booking your own tours in order to make $20 in some weird city where you sleep on a stranger's floor (all of this, after this covid nightmare is over, obviously). All these things lead to experiences where you meet like-minded people and make friends, which is where it all starts. We don't have the magic potion for your success. There is no such thing. Carve your own path and the right people will take notice.
Alternatively, you can check out the Church of Noise, a non-profit we started with the purpose of funding adventurous art. You'll find an always-open public submission form for a $1000 grant, several of which are awarded quarterly.
